Autumnal conker jewelry. I can not resist collecting shiny conkers. There is a tree on our route to nursery every morning so we have been stopping and collecting them most days on our way home. I have never in the past done anything with them except sit them in corner where they loose they're shiny and rapidly collect dust. This year we have accessorised. Every time I wear my new large necklace it makes me smile. It is heavy but as it dries it is getting lighter. I tried to pretend this was an activity for both me and Billy but actually he was not that interested. He does enjoy wearing his necklace from time to time so we can match though.
I thought it might be tricky to put hole in the conkers but I just used a sharp kebab skewer with a wooden handle. The jersey fabric sewed around the string is to add comfort as the string cut in a little under the wait of the conkers. I also liked it as a detail.
